Hi there. I'm Craig Gero, the Transfer Admissions Counselor at Winthrop University. Congratulations on your acceptance to Winthrop and welcome to the Eagle family. Over the next few moments, I look forward to walking you through the next steps of enrollment.
First, create a Wingspan account by logging into your application portal. Wingspan will be the portal you use to accept your financial aid and view your classes throughout your entire time at Winthrop.
Second, make sure you've completed your FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The FAFSA is available every year in october at fafsa.ed.gov. Winthrop's FAFSA code is 003456. Financial aid packages will be available in late spring and viewable on your Wingspan account.
Next, if you live in South Carolina, a residency form has been placed on your application portal. To be considered an in state student for payment purposes, please fill that form out completely and submit it online.
Finally, you must register for transfer orientation. Orientation's required for all new students, and orientation will help you learn more about your Winthrop family, as well as meet with your academic advisors and register for classes. You can register for transfer orientation at apply.winthrop.edu/portal/admit. Please know that if you're a transfer student that qualifies for the South Carolina LIFE Scholarship, you must have your official high school transcripts sent to the Office of Admissions, as well as your final college transcript with all final grades posted, before I can verify your eligibility for the LIFE Scholarship.
As always, remember that our admissions team is here to help you. Thanks and Go Eagles.
